The Glencoe team of Hunter Fordham and Mason Blackwell placed first in the team standings in last weekend’s Alabama Student Angler Bass Fishing Association state tournament on Lake Neely Henry.
Fordham and Blackwell turned in 10 fish weighing 33.4 pounds to edge out the Alexandria team of Will Nichols and Christian King, who had 10 fish weighing 31.64 pounds. Third was the Springville team, Logan Henderson and Steven Swann, who caught 10 fish weighing 30.57 pounds.
Rounding out the top 10 were Jackson Isbell and Nathan Partain, Moody, 29.77 pounds; Robbie and Jacob Griffith, Ashville, 28.07 pounds; Sam McNew and McKinley Prickett, Alexandria, 27.64 pounds; Jacob Locke and Jaci Skipper, Rehobeth, 26.65 pounds; Parker Davis and Aaron Stephens, Mortimer Jordan, 26.19 pounds; Jacob McGuire and Jett Moore, Chelsea, 26.15 pounds; and Zach Martin and Bailey Dutton, 25.85 pounds.
The tournament featured 204 teams from 44 schools or locations. They weighed in 1,347 fish totaling 2,528.26 pounds.
